Hi, I am a type 2 diabetic taking 2 doses of 60 units of humbling M3 and 80mg of gliclazide daily. I’m considering an extended holiday in Spain may be 3-4 months possibly a little longer.I also take statins and blood pressure meds. Can I ask what others have done in relation to obtaining prescribed meds. I am from the uk. I am happy to share any info.

I spend around 4 months of the year in Spain. I have a travel pouch for insulin which you can buy online. There are a few to chose from. You should travel with a copy of your prescription, which your diabetic nurse can give you. Maybe speak with your nurse or doc to tell them what you’re doing and they may be able to write the appropriate prescription.
If not, simply take your prescription to a pharmacy in Spain. You should be able to buy your meds there. Over the years many friends have visited us and at various times they have forgotten to bring meds or need more. The pharmacies in Spain are very accommodating and have always supplied the meds needed.
Obviously, I don’t know your travel plans but hopefully you’ll have access to a fridge for storing insulin? If you’re travelling around, the travel pouches are quite easy to use and reactivate etc.
Hope this is helpful.
