Type 2 Now Kicked Into Long Grass

better news today

i was diagnosed with type 2 in november whilst searching for cancer
49 HBA1C 106kg

April 2018 half way through chemotherapy HBA1C then 45 101 kg
started Whole food plant based diet - to clear /stop cancer growth
GP said i should take statins as my LDL was 3.9 HDL 1.3 , LDL seen as too high ( high lipids)

my reply then was "i will sort lower with dietary change"
her reply was LDL would not lower by more than 10% :banghead:

binned all meat,fish eggs ,milk and processed foods - virtually no oil
no added sugars, cakes etc

home made spelt grain or bought shop bread Vogel brand, eating rice ,potatoes and sweet potatoes in small qunatities, loads of beans,legumes , fruit/berries salad ,vegetables

blood test results today

LDL 3 now 30% lower :)
HDL 1
HBA1C 36 :)

No longer diabetic
86 kg 57 year old male

WFPB diet is for life including 2 Fasting days per week max calories to lower INSULIN GROWTH FACTOR (IGF-1)

it has been quite easy
i dont' miss animal protein at all, never felt so good.

PET scan in 2 weeks to see if cancer gone

I'm very much a grain-free omnivore, so your chosen way of eating isn't for me, but I wish you continuing success with it and fingers crossed for your forthcoming PET scan.

Congratulations on a job well done, I'm glad that your dietary changes worked both to aid in your fight against cancer and Diabetes. Fingers crossed that you get the all clear with your scan.

Well done in having the will to tackle your way of eating whilst gong through chemo. I hope you peogress really well. All the best.
