hi all
perhaps a stupid question, but can you reverse type 2 if you get your sugars in the right brackets
when you look at the blood sugar tables by NICE mine are pretty near to normal now
thanks

Mine are down in the normal range now, but I don't consider my diabetes to be reversed because I know if I started to eat masses of carbs my levels would start to go up again.

I prefer consider myself to be in remission.

I agree with Didie. My levels are normally in the non-diabetic range, but I am definitely still diabetic. All I have to do is have a few days off from my diet and my BGs start creeping up again.

As yet there is no cure for Type 2 diabetes, nor any other kind. Your BGs can be as "normal" as you like, but they'll be up again as soon as you go back to your old ways.

Sorry!

Agree with above.

Although the receptionist on ringing for my 2nd HBA1c result said 'normal', I know I'm not :lolno:

I am currently a well controlled diabetic. Long may it continue

I have kept my BG in the NORMAL range of around 5nearly all the time, with HbA1cs in the 5%s for several years, but I know that if I had a high carb meal the number would go sky high immediately. I'm a controlled diabetic, not a cured one.
