My diabetic nurse was larger than me too...The best someone has ever said to me about having Type 2 diabetes was the last diabetic nurse I saw recently, she had a real attitude problem as though she knew it all and it was the way she old me I needed to loose another 10lbs to get down to my ideal weight 62kg this is a person who sat in a chair and needed to loose more than lbs I was so annoyed I felt like asking her had she ever been tested for diabetes.
Hi Myangelsmom, yes your right so frustrating how annoying is it, thanks for replying. My diabetic nurse was larger than me too...
Frustrating, eh?
What eating plan is she following to get her health in check? Seems odd to me to be a diabetic nurse with diabetes. I mean, if she's supposed to be the "expert" on teaching others how to manage or reverse diabetes, it's a poor example to be morbidly obese with t2 herself, you know? It'd be like going to a gym only to find that your personal trainer is some beer belly sportin' dude with a smoker's cough. It would cause me to lose faith in their ability to help me.My nurse, Liz is T2. She has 13 siblings all T2....I kid you not
She is about 20 stone, but was 27 stone and is doing a great job of getting the weight off.
She was so encouraging to me when I was diagnosed 7 weeks ago and spent 40 minutes with me explaining everything I initially needed to know.
There are some good folk, faithfully serving in our amazing NHS

I'm not suggesting she's not lovely, but I think the medical field needs to start setting examples if they want Joe Public to follow their leadership. Still, great on her for losing seven stone!!
At my education session, " I hope none of you are testing your own sugar. That's my job".
Oooh, I could rip a tissue!!
I agree with @Brunneria here in that this an unfair comment. I've always are healthily but never managed to lose any weight. When I tried a vlc diet it almost killed me as my body began 'shutting down' and I was referred to an endocrinologist who, after blood tests etc, said that I was one of his few patients that could honestly blame their metabolism for their inability to lose weight because it was too efficient and goes into starvation mode so I would never be able to lose weight safely. In addition my thyroid couldn't make up its' mind whether it was over of under active - it now has and since starting treatment and cutting carbs I have lost 3 stone - still more to lose but it's a start. What eating plan is she following to get her health in check?
