Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

4.3 this morning - yeay
Perhaps the sleep in did me good!

Morning All

6.1 for me this morning, guests departed this morning and I saw off the last of the Port last night, so back to normal from now on.........

6.3 today. I spent yesterday in a zombie state after New Year's Eve and didn't know what my BG would do today.

One more day of ill-discipline then firmly back on the low-carb wagon from tomorrow!

From what I read on an American diabetes website, Metformin reached maximum efficacy within 2 weeks and the gliclazide starts working from the first dose, also reaching maximum efficacy within 10 to 14 days. I'm not optimistic therefore that these medications are going to resolve my levels! Unfortunately, here in Santorini, half the island is still on holiday so other than a locum at the hospital, there's little how for the falling I'll over Christmas. We do have churches in every street corner though, that's a comfort!

6.9 today, it's a bit higher today, trying to think what caused - apart from the Turkish Delight maybe? Left over from Crimbo- not doing that again!!!

@Osterley you may be right about your meds. Although my gp said it takes a whole month for your body to digest any new meds. Also it takes 3 months to get any affect from any oral med out of your system. I know because I stopped metformin due to tummu upset and it took about that to settle down after stopping it.

Hi folks. Work at 07.30 this morning. BG, when I woke at 6am, was 4.9 fasting. Been running in the low to mid 5's the rest of today so far. Have a lovely Saturday everyone.
