Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

9.6 today.

up a bit on yesterday but I don't know why.

have ordered a SD codefree meter and strips etc, since my gp has stopped my strips on prescription. I only got 50 per month and supplemented with buying from Abbotts. Home health is so much cheaper - £7 per 50 instead of £16.

Serena, if you buy in bulk strips work out at just over £5 per tub Codes are:-
5 tubs 264086. 10 tubs 975833

4.7 @ 6am
Initially delighted, but got curious a couple of hours later, after bustling around and doing a few jobs before breakfast, and - still fasting - it was 6.7
I guess I'd better go and have some breakfast before it gets any worse!

8.1 at 10.20am UTI so up through the night drinking water, water and more water. Slept until 10.15am Thought the reading would have been higher
Water done it's job by the way!

Thanks hun what is LCHF please x

Low Carbohydrate High Fat - we try to keep carbs low as this seems to improve blood glucose levels, high fat so you are not hungry - it does work for me I just struggle to keep the carbs low enough to make a difference. Hope that helps.

6.6 today - the best to-date so happy with that It is the carbs that make the difference for me now just need to learn to keep the carbs low and only allow once a day - this is the bit I struggle with but still working on it.

8.1 at 10.45am

A good day to you all
