My dn asked "are you surprised you have diabetes now? It can't have been a surprise." Wasn't sure how to respond to that5.7 this sunny morning. T2 can be genetically caused, some medications eg steroids increase your risk, ethnic background can also make a difference and increase your risk of T2 diabetes. So is not just diet and exercise like some people think.
My former GP, who kept me for many months as "pre-diabetic" without any health advice except "you must lose weight", never forgot to say "you know you'll end up diabetic" regardless of what I was there with :-/My dn asked "are you surprised you have diabetes now? Take care PhilAnother weird day for me yesterday - spiked up to 9 again after breakfast (same breakfast I've been having for months with no spike) and a headache all day: don't know if the headache caused the increased bs or the other way round. Decided enough was enough and avoided carbs for the rest of the day to get things under control, which seemed to work.
This morning was 4.7 and no headache so hoping for a better day. I guess it's possible my recent better tolerance to carbs could be on the wane so I'll monitor carefully and adjust accordingly
