I wonder about this. Does everyone get up to wash their hands before testing? Or just test in bed first thing?6.3 - I need to test when I wake up but it's too comfy to get up out of bed to wash hands.
Hold the cake, mine was 6.9 at 7:04 am on rising. And rose some more!
Well.....four and a half hours after my weetabix and my first ever 4.7!! =-O

I was at work deb, 2 1/2 hrs after breakfast I was back to my wake up 6, 1 hour after a bit of lunch- prawns, cream cheese and cucumber I was 5.5???Did you test at one hour and two hours after? I'd expect your BG to have reduced to 4.7 after four hours as the body's had plenty of time to deal with those carbs.

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

I would have to go downstairs to wash my hands, then my bladder would wake up, then I would be mauled by hungry cats etc. Would the moment be gone? Tested this morning first thing without washing my hands. 5.4 which is an all time low for me.
Morning Robbity! On a work day I could eat my main meal as late as 7.30, yesterday I was on earlier finish and ate around 6.30, then had sugar free jelly and cream at 10pm- bit random there! Usually I would eat no later than 9pm though. As above woke up to 5.4 at 7.30 today.I tend to eat supper quite late and what I tend to think of as my morning "wakeup" level, generally taken about 6-7 hours later, is around 6.5. My last month's average is 6.4.
If I go longer I'll sometimes see a smallish liver dump. When I've done a proper 8-12 hour fasting test for the doc, I'll get a lot higher reading because I've been active. So, just out of idle interest: how long are we going since our evening meals/supper before doing our morning tests?
