Sounds lovely. I'd be ok with all the mushrooms ;-)

Sounds divine bluetit!! I got home and had a call to say I had left my "insulin" on my desk......they meant my case with my meter in of course !! Can't do bed time or waking for the first time in 8 weeks- feel lost!!

Just a quickie. Does anyone know where Debs is? Is she on holiday or gone missing?

funny I was just thinking that this morning. She had looked in one day I noticed but not posting. Maybe just really busy with the kids being off-.

My daughter would call me a donkey brain, and my hubby a lame brain for doing that. Lol Don't get withdrawal symptoms. I know I would!

Bearing in mind the result you had recently with fish and chips, you might be pleasantly surprised. At least, having done that experiment recently, your pancreas won't be shocked by the carbs.

Happy anniversary by the way.

It's been either at the side of my bed, on my desk or in my bag every day.......Will feel better seeing it again in the morning!!

I bet that won't affect you as much as you think.

Happy anniversary mr and mrs bluetit!

This morning I recorded a 4.7, which is above my usual personal range. I'm on “that batch” of Codefree strips, so not too fussed by it. I also ate later than usual last night (I was tied up on long distance phone calls at cooking time, so everything went back a bit), then was very hungry and ate more than I usually would have done. That was more meat, so in real terms it's not a problem, even if it's a true reading.

This morning I have also lost more weight. I feel like having a tantrum!! That's me solidly under 50kg now, so I could do with nudging back over that line. Yesterday I was shopping for a smart day/business dress, and ended up trying on samples in size 6. Actually, the 8s looked much better, but I'm sort of horrified I can get into a 6 and do up the zip! The weight loss/steady/gain thing is such a fine line. Please don't think I'm crowing here, because I'm not, but I would suggest that anyone nearing their target weight starts their maintenance programme earlier than they might prefer, so that any continuing loss can be accommodated, without the potential to want to gain weight. That feels very counter-intuitive to me. I refuse to be a yo-yo dieter; even if it is bouncing off my lower limits!!!

Today, I need to head to the metropolis and pick up a couple of things, so I think I'll do the IKEA trip I deferred a week or so ago. I've just checked and my “local” store has both things I want, so I'll bite the bullet. I already have a headache this morning, so who knows what I'll be like when I've done the 10 mile hike around the store to pick up my bits.

Then, this weekend, I have committed to preparing some things to go on eBay. Deepest of deep joys. But, only when I have done that will I allow myself to do some sewing. It's my very own, self manufactured “carrot and stick”.

Have a great day everyone.

7.4 I think...and then it rose to 8.4 before breakfast...a late entry there from last night's birthday dinner I think LOL

@AndBreathe you are so right. I left myself a bit of a leeway and am so glad I did because I have lost a further 5lbs since I decided to start maintenance. I was really pleased yesterday because I gained half a pound! . I'm not crowing either and am finding this very hard. Maintenance is more difficult than loss for me, or so it seems.

I always knew maintenance was going to be the hard bit, but it's harder than I gave it credit for!

5.5 today

On the weight maintenance thing, I have been sinking steadily from 90kg in March to about 74kg now, although the rate of decline is slowing. I want to see what I look/feel like when I get to 70kg and within recommended BMI range - and get some input from Mrs Sanguine on that! - before deciding if to go for 65kg, just over 10 stone. I was always slight until my 30s, no more than 55kg in those days, but that would look a bit strange now I think.

Anyway, thinking back to BG control being more important than weight, I guess it's fat/protein and maybe less exercise that is the better mechanism than building in carbs again - unless by that time I can tolerate the odd slice of toast better! But it's going to be whatever works for the individual as always!
