Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

The Stella as beer is rammed with carbs. Someone once said to me that it was like drinking liquid sugar when I had had 7 pints the night before a fasting BG test.

5.1, and already been in Spain over a week, no scales here but don't appear to have put any weight on, and certainly the shorts that I leave over here are no longer of use to me, much to big.
Will give a proper weight / BG when I get back but so far so good I THINK. lol
Oh and for me it the Vodka that seems to be assisting.

5.3 today.......yay!! Work later, but before then I have my second afternoon "spotlight" session......I will update last weeks other thread!

Didn't check...oh the horror! My GP would approve though lol.

My morning liver dump disappeared a long time ago. I'm normally either flat or lower.
It came back this morning.
5.5 going to bed despite a nasty spike 2hrs after tea.(my own fault)
6.0 on getting up.

3.9 or 4.6, depending on meters and strips.

Well, yesterday was an interesting day. Cold and wet all day, but I need to get used to this, as I'm now here until at least the turn of the year. I had actually become convinced that the thermostat for the main heating had gone wrong, because the heating wasn't coming on until I pushed the thermostat up to 20-25c, when I'm cold. I had sort of started plotting an upgrade to satisfy my inner geek, so that we could control the heating remotely, a bit like we do with some other things already. But, I knew before "selling" this upgrade to Mr B I would have to get my ducks in order, including some test data, based on something a bit more scientific than my toes and fingertips. So, £5 later, on a thermostat and I learn, it's my thermostat that's wonky, not the house! I don't think I can upgrade that quite so simply! So, it's off to the sock drawer for me, and I need to renew my relationship with sweaters and cardis, rather than cossies and sarongs. Life it tough, you know!

Today's activities focus on preparing for a meeting I have on Thursday, and a bit of personal admin. I've started to get a Windows smart warning on my core laptop, so it's being backed up as I type (on another machine) and I'll then make a new image of the hard drive. My decision then is new hard drive, versus new laptop. I'd be quite content to bite the bullet on a new machine, but I'm not sold on Windows 8. I like my windows 7, and have all my integrations nicely sorted. There's always so much to think about. I haven't actually executed the rebuild process before, so I'll think that through or pay someone else to do it. The sums I'm being quoted for labour are very modest, but I like the idea of doing it myself. It's not like I'm living my life in the fast lane at the moment.

Anyway, time to get a move on. I need to pick up some blood papers for my November bloods (I'll scan and the print nearer the time. I'm also going to self refer to the local podiatry service, as a routine matter. The initial checks I had done were by a local podiatrist, in practise. She was lovely and very thorough, but she felt I should self refer in due course as she felt my feet were in good shape and she is an expensive tick in the box. I'll probably have to wait an age to be seen, but I have no concerns.

Play nicely boys and girls.

We had a new boiler fitted last year which came with a fancy wifi gizmo so that I can control the central heating from the IPad. It's a lot easier than pressing lots of buttons on the thermostat. The only problem is if I'm working away and the weather changes I get texts from Mrs Sanguine saying "it's ****ing freezing here can you turn the heating on!" or "It's too hot, why is the heating on!".

We do all sorts from the other place from our laptops, iPhones and iPads. It means we don't miss out an anything going on at home. I even have an IP camera trained onto our entertainment mission control, and if hangs up, or whatever, using wifi switches I can reboot from afar. I know how to facilitate rebooting the internet from afar, but haven't built that bit yet. To be honest, it's been fine when ignored for 6 months at a time, I'm sure power cuts mean it gets the odd power cycle anyway.

It's all good clean fun. :)

laughs they asked me if I wanted that I said no thank you ....I am hot when my hubby is cold and vicer versa would only cause problems:meh:

13.6 today not good but down again low carb diet is good so far

The confusions is completely understandable. We've all been there, and I remember it well. But, part of getting rid of the confusion is to understand the interaction of our bodies and the food we are consuming. It's a bit of a roller-coaster ride, but knowledge is power.

If you intend to "eat sensibly", then, rather than be demoralised, you might actually have some pleasant surprises. If you intend to just step away from everything until Monday (or whenever), then there's a danger that come Monday you can't face it. Have you ever thought to yourself (before all of this), "I'll start my diet on Monday", and somehow it just doesn't quite happen?

Clearly, you have to decide what you do, but whatever you eat this weekend your bloods will do what they do. Maybe you're much less curious than me. I can be a bit of a data monster.

I'll get off your case now. But, good luck, whichever route you take. :)

6.0...not seen that for a while :)
