I guess you are never too old to live a new experience.

After trying for an hour to find a route to get to work I just gave up and returned home.

Our roads have turned to rivers and there are stalled cars everywhere.

You can see the bonnet of my car bottom left of this picture. I drive quite a tall SUV!

The black Mercedes C class in this photo was actually floating on the water. It could be seen moving up and down like s boat on the waves or a piece of driftwood.

I think I will stay warm and dry at home for a while and try again this afternoon.

We don't often do rain in Cyprus but when we do....

Pavlos.

PS two hours post breakfast of frozen raspberries blueberries and Greek yoghurt 5,6 mmol
You not having your morning tun then Pavlos ;)
Seriously tho hope the torrents quickly subside and your home stays safely above the water level

Had the same thing Frozen Shoulder abt 7/8 years ago regrettably it did take 2/3 years to fully free up but the pain decreased rather rapidly to a dull ache, hope you recover quicker
Frozen Shoulder is a right nightmare... I first had it in my left shoulder - 4 years later I was lucky enough to get it in my right shoulder. It took about 13months before the pain went and now I am up to 21 months - no pain but still almost no movement in the arm - its a nightmare getting dressed. as usual Dr says that having diabetes, means we're more susceptible to this lol

Yes I gather it's one of those diabetic and menopausal things. I've a touch in my right but it's my left that is worse- exacerbated by holding my ipad and my computer posture... I believe it has three phases- I still have reasonable movement ( albeit with a few tears on my eyes at times) so think I'm still only in stage one so long time to go yet!

thanks- yes I gather it's a slow thing. It's like the worst migraine and toothache put together. It's finding somewhere to get comfortable in bed - I'd stick my arm straight out if I could but it's too cold and I'm scared of sharks under the bed( don't ask!!! blame my Dad for taking me to see Jaws as a small kid)

9.9 that's the highest fasting reading and I sure do feel it. Had a restless night.... I blame the tummy upsets on the gliclizide

pick up new meds this afternoon....so a new beginning tomorrow

Stay safe and warm everyone.

Good luck Diana.

Thank you @Bluetit1802

It went okay. I asked for a copy of the ultrasound report and was given it.

I was also told that my liver function which has been slightly raised for several years has now returned to NORMAL!! :D

Excerpts from the ultrasound report read:

History: Prolonged and mild abnormal LFTs. Known RA. Recently commenced Metformin.

The gallbladder is small, contracted and probably fibrosed around numerous shadowing tiny calculi. There is no bile duct dilation and no local abnormality of the liver has been demonstrated. There is uniform increased reflectivity throughout the liver in keeping with fatty infiltration.

Normal antegrade flow is present in the portal vein, with normal respiratory variation. There is also normal biphasic flow in the hepatic eins. The pancreas, spleen and both kidneys are normal in appearance. The aorta is normal in calibre and no intra-abdominal lymphadenopathy has been demonstrated.

That's the good news.... and confirmation that it is the non-alcholic fatty liver condition

I asked my GP what could have caused it and he said insulin resistance and I asked how it could be treated. He said increased exercise.... When I said I already walked daily and worked out with a personal trainer, so could I try Forxiga he asked me to spell it, saying he'd never heard of it! He then said he was reluctant to prescribe any weight loss drugs (***??) and he would have to consult with his colleagues and speak with a dietician. That's when I knew I'd lost the battle. He also said my LCHF diet won't help the fatty liver and I should go low fat..........

Otherwise its been a good start to the day.............and its somewhat comforting to know I've had an MOT of my internal organs

Thank you for your support and good wishes

I had another half slice fried bread tonight, no chocolate, just some sore fingers!

What batch were those strips from Blue? (I don't have any issue with what I'm currently using, just interested. I know you may have posted this already.......... Sorry.)

Glucose update: 4,7 before lunch

Weather update: rain stopped, sun trying to break through:

Newcastle diet?

5.2 at bedtime (bang on normal) I believe some people (type 1's) usually wipe away the first blob and squeeze again. I have seen comments about this on other threads. Could be @noblehead.

Apologies as I've not read the thread leading up to your post Bluetit, but some people do wipe away the first blood sample, I do this if my hands haven't been washed thoroughly before testing, squeezing the finger too hard to obtain blood releases other fluids (I believe) which can intervere with bg results, I've read it on here and seen it mentioned in books (could have been Think like a Pancreas), @phoenix will no doubt give a full explanation.

Befor brekky..........6.7
2 hrs on................. 6.4
before Dinner........6.4
2 hrs after dinner...7.0

Thanks for calling in and responding Noblehead.

There was a paper that looked into first or second drop.
It's summarised nicely here http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diabetes/expert-blog/testing-blood-sugar/bgp-20056579

A 3.7 for me this morning.

Today I am doing my best impression of Mary Berry, with the good old Kenwood going non-stop. Having said Mr B hadn't asked me to bake in an age, he crumbled last night, at the thought of me making one of my famed Lemon Drizzle Cakes for another (even if that other is his own brother). :) So, we're rocking and rolling in citrus today. I'm pleased he has asked for a cake again, because I know he enjoys home baking, and I hate to think of him missing out on anything because my lifestyle has changed somewhat.

I will be up nice and early tomorrow morning to get batch baking my also somewhat renouned Scones. There will be some plain (slightly sweet), some Cheese and some Cheese and Chilli Flakes. They'll all be heading south, and hopefully some of them will even reach the freezer!!

I'm also going to be doing some experimentation with chutneys whilst Mr B is away, so that anything truly hopping can be binned without reference to the look on his face. My Cheese Scones with Red Onion Chutney are a PlanetBreathe favourite. I may or may no succumb, in due course.

Have a good day playmates. It's cold out there!!

Watch it again, the fear may then go away..... Hope the pain subsides soon then you can get some decent sleep.

@dianagrace I'm sure that the stuff posted by @Southport GP suggested improved fatty liver on the version of low carb diet implemented by his practice. Maybe just try low carbing with moderate fats? I eat more cheese ( still not huge quantities ) but haven't gone mad on cream or butter or the like as I don't much like taste and I've weight to lose so don't need that many calories.
I'm not sure how Forxiga works in relation to weight loss? I thought that was Metformin's take on the control game? Might be worth a go of the Newcastle diet as Douglas suggested- something I'm thinking of trying in New Year just for a few weeks.
