Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Yep, 99.9% my dad in all ways- he was 6.4 1/2 ex grenadier and firefighter!
We were at GPS on Monday, now got stronger pain killers more specifically for heads apparently, amitriptyline - also to help with sleep, Monday night was a better night for her but not as good last night somehow. Back end of month to see how it's gone and if not better then referral for ct scan
 

I'm utterly convinced you will be just fine. The only thing I would say, and it's pure speculation on my part, is to be kind to yourself and your body, and allow your body a coupe of weeks to adjust to it's new regime. I'm guessing there may be a period of "no change", then a tiny increase in scores, just until your body gets used to not having any little helpers onboard. If there's going to be one, your challenge will be during that transition period.

You're a bright, strong resourceful woman, Kimbo, you'll just move on through it.
 
5.2 at bedtime
a whopping 6.2 this morning with Codefree (tested 3 times) Accu-chek Mobile was 5.6.

Judging by my breakfast plus 1hr reading, the 6.2 looks right as the rise was bang on average.

By that, are you saying, in this instance, your Codefree is more aligned to your averages/expectations?

I'm just a bit conscious that over the past couple of months we've had a few post suggesting the Codefree has far wider variations than "we" find acceptable. I guess I'm a bit concerned that some of these posts may influence new users away from the Codefree and towards a meter/strip combination that might be less financially sustainable.

In the next week, I'll be making a large order, and will be sticking with the Codefree. It's close enough for me.
 

Until recently I haven't had the Accu Chek out of its bag since summer, and I only record the Codefree readings for my records. All I can say for sure is the Accu Chek reads between 0.5 and over 1mmol/l lower most of the time. Before tea last night the Accu Chek read 4.4 and 4.8. The Codefree read 5.5 and 5.3. But who knows which is the nearer to the correct reading? As I only record the Codefree results for my averages, I only have the Codefree trends to look at.

I will also be sticking to the Codefree. As I have no idea which of the 2 meters is the more accurate, I prefer to stick to the one that reads higher than be led into a false sense of security.
 
APPLE CAKE
6ozs unsalted butter or marg
4ozs soft light muscovado sugar
2 eggs beaten
7.5 ozs soya flour
3 level tsps baking powder
1/4 tsp xanthan gum
3 med cox apples (grated wth skin on)
Cinnamon to taste
Cream sugar and butter, beat in eggs, stir in dry ingredients. You may need to add soya milk to get soft dropping consistency. Gas 5/ 180 deg C in large loaf tin 45 mins to an hour.
2 half inch slices took me up from 5.5 to 6.5 after 2 hrs (6.4) at hone hour
 
So hard to watch your children suffer, so much better when it's happening to yourself. I do hope you see an improvements soon... poor little lady...
 
Wow it was really hard to see all the fasting readings this morning with the amount of chatter going on...

7.1 for me this morning... 5.8 before bed
 
Back down to a more comforting 4.6 today. i was going so well with 8 days of <5 until yesterday. Probably not a coincidence that I haven't been running for 4 days. It was 5.6 last night 2 hours after dinner.
 
Well finish antibiotics today and yesterday was the turning point. Yesterday and this morning woke up fresh as a daisy and not a hypersomniac.

Sorry to hear that. How are the rest of your figures - pre and post meals? The morning one IS the hardest to keep down. Let us know your meds, if any, as this can make a difference to the replies you get. Welcome to the thread
