So codefree is a brand of meter?Yep....its the batch number on the pot of Codefree strips. During my almost 8 months since diagnosed there has been a couple of dodgy batches but this 44 seems the absolute worst!!
Well....The dreaded batch 44 strikes hard today @Bluetit1802 !!
I've done three on waking;
6.6, 7 and 7.1 !! No way are they correct- i went to bed on 5.2 and hadn't gone higher than 6.7 post evening meal, tried and tested meat and veg
I last saw a 7 back in the early days of diagnosis back in june and my usual averages are no where near!! So annoying and frustrating to begin the day!!
Counting to 50 here.......
6.3 this morning on my back up batch. Ate very late last night in pub after driving to parents and back to collect Mr E's birthday cake. I don't think the stress of using batch 44 is helping either- I dread taking my levels now.
I started a new tub of batch 44 yesterday evening and got an "I don't believe it" moment at bedtime and again this morning - perfectly normal readings!!!!
Bedtime 5.1
Fasting 5.5
Prefix with batch 44
Average Fasting 5.3
Yesterday 6.1
Today 6.4
Last Night Bed 6.9
Yesterday I was a little confused (not unusual for me) I have on 2 previous occasions had a Tesco Curry Finest a Jalfreza & a Madras but I had looked at the labelling wrongly, I thought it said 14g carbs (this is white writing on black and in no order), but when purchasing for yesterdays meal noticed this was wrong it was 70g carbs. I'd looked at the 'per 100g'. However as I had tested before when having this and did not from what I could remember had any major highs on the bloods, decided to continue & did a test.
Started eating Late 9.23pm
5.2 Jalfreeza with rice plus added own yogurt on side 70 carbs total, with one glass of wine
6.0 1/2hr
7.3 1hr
7.3 1 1/2hr
7.0 2hrs
7.0 2 1/2hrs Cup of tea no milk 1 square 70%
8.0 3hrs
6.9 4hrs
I don't understand when 2 slices of Seed sensation totalling 28 carbs sends me straight into the 9s yet the above at 70 carbs as just not had the affect I imagined.

Yes, Thanks Bluetit, you may well be right.I suppose having the chocolate has skewed the results a bit because whilst the choc shot you up another mmol/l it is quick release, so your bedtime 6.9 may still have been the curry/rice taking a heck of a long time to come down. With seed sensations it may shoot you up to the 9's, but I bet it is down to normal a lot faster than that curry. Just a thought.
I would get some more ordered if I were you. I was about to order more when Homehealth sent me the replacement box. I was also feeling like you, dreading taking a reading. The whole thing was on my mind all the time, and I really am not an anxious person. I still have 4 tubs left of batch 44, but for what they cost it just wasn't worth the stress.
See, this is why DNs advise against testing, it stresses you out lol:***:
We win some:Yippee no hypo no liver dump
7.1 last night at bedtime
5.1 this morning
That will do
Were all in need of comfort now an then ....now fall into line and carry on :6.7 for me this morning... Its my own fault I needed some comfort food last night. My boss called me at 7:30pm to say that his Mother had passed away, and it was all action stations to get him flights back to Spain and to make all the necessary arrangements and changes to his calender etc. So by about 10pm when it was all done, I suddenly found myself thinking about my parents and my boss and I was feeling really sad and in need of something comforting... so it was either white toast and butter or Rich Tea biscuits - I went with a cup of tea and biscuits... I'm not really sure I enjoyed them, but curling up on the sofa with a hot mug of tea and my housemates eating biscuits and talking until late kind of helped......
Been to Doctors chest infection flared back up back on antibiotics and steroids up:-(. hbc1a has come back high so got consultant appointment begin of march. Doc thinks infection and steroids are not helping bg levels.
