Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

6.1 Bedtime
8.9 Fasting

Fasting bs have been in the 8's all week. Something isn't right

Frustrating - any thoughts on what it might be?

Dinner +2 still in the mid 5s, 5.0 this morning.

2hours later Codfree says, 6.5
Think it's back to porridge tomorrow, FAGE yoghurt, not for me. Yoghurt and berries is a pudding, not breakfast. Lol

How much lower are you finding this new batch reads compared to batch 44?

I seem to be finding my readings have gone back to where they were before batch 44. I have had 2 outliers. One this morning gave me 8.1 after my normal breakfast (5.6 before), so that was totally stupid, and obviously wrong so I knew it wasn't me. I only started them Thursday afternoon, so difficult to come up with any sensible averages yet, but so far so good.

Do you think there's a big difference in when the snowdrops appear between North and South?

Yes most definitely. Lancashire is around 3 weeks later than Windsor area. However Lancashire is so much nicer than Windsor and Eton.
Can't wait to see the reply to that one
Lol

I think the onset of spring (including arrival of flowers, leaves on trees) being later as you go north is due to daylight length, which in winter is longer the further south you go (in the northern hemisphere). After the spring equinox days become longer as you go north until the autumn equinox when the sequence reverses. Something like that anyway.

On top of that climate change has resulted in spring generally coming earlier by several days or even weeks, that is more temperature related.

Congrats, better than 10 !
Maybe you should move from Novomix to longer acting stuff like Humulin M3 which I am on....missed my calling as a DSN rofl

Yes, the nurse talked about that actually, but I wanted to see how I get on with this. DSN an alternative career for you for defo Eddie!

I wear my heart on my sleeve so no "the caring profession" is probably not for me lol. I am only kidding about your high readings and take my comments with a pinch of salt. Just want to see you right as rain as constant 9+ mmol/l readings are going to make you unwell. Give Humulin M3 a consideration as Novomix 30 only lasts for 6 hours as Humulin M3 is longer acting at 12 hours hence you are unlikely to wake up to high BGs. Take care

4.1 for me this morning. I'll take that, although I might have expected marginally lower after a very low end to yesterday evening.

We ate out last night, later than usual, at the local Greek. It's always so easy to find delicious food to eat there. I stuck with the chicken souvlaki, with some salad, rice and tzatziki, and a glass of red. Oh boy, was it delicious. It's a shame they routinely chill the red here, but I'm sort of used to it now. I just let it breathe longer, but have a dicky fit if they try to add ice cubes, as they often do!

Two hours later 3.3 or 3.6, depending on which blood letting you believe.

Playground remark removed. CC.

I hope that turns out alright for you. Feel better.

7.3 A little sweeter today...cause it's Valentine's Day? Kidding, was the garlic sausage last evening, missed the carb count. Have a Happy Day everyone. Hug the one you're with!

Hi Susikav, I had some pecan nuts the night before, but to be honest, roundabout 9 seems to be my average. I've increased my evening insulin on the dsn advice, but this morning it's 9.8 :-(
Ahhhh, oh dear....

I agree with you and only use yoghurt for smoothies... berries and cream is nice... I hate that FAGE stuff - I like goat's yoghurt the best, but one of the organic ones that are full-fat are very nice...

Naughty... I'm from both, so not saying a word...
