I'm out! And smiling:) Got off very lightly after my solicitor managed to get the 2nd offence dismissed so all I had to plead guilty to was speeding. Walked out with only 3 penalty points to add to my collection and a very light wallet.....:( Lesson learned.

Thank you everyone for all your support and good wishes which this bad girl doesn't really deserve.

Oh, BS after 2 trains, 2 taxis, finding my way around a strange and busy city on foot and being hauled before a magistrate = 5.3!

Glade your free.
Train, taxi, solicitor, sounds like an expensive lesson. Lesson learned I hope.
We would have missed you posh.

Makes the speed awareness course sound like a doddle.

Thank you! And I'd have missed all of you! Yes its been a very expensive day but my solicitor advised me not to drive as there was a risk of an on the spot disqualification. He did well to get one offence dismissed before we even entered the court and has more than earned his fee!

We were the first ones in to the court and walked out beaming, only to be faced by a full waiting area of totally bemused and worried looking fellow traffic offence defendants.

Its been quite an experience and one I don't intend to repeat. This bad girl is turning good...;)

Congrats on all counts, we all like a good result.

Glad your still driving slowly. Sounds expensive. I can't driving cause of eyes not working right due to genetics.

A nice 5.3 this morning, catch 44 gave me bed of 5.9 which I knew was out and fasting proves it as I never decrease in the night!
Just had breakfast and now need to up my water as it's bloods at 10.40am......
Well.....I feel like a pin cushion! The two vacations were swift, one in each arm. My veins weren't happy today again though, two attempts in each arm produced a drop, nurse examined my hands and was going to take from one but then rang my usual dn who said to send me down to her room and she worked her magic first time thank goodness!
I asked her if the fact my levels dont seem to have altered much in the weeks since going meds free would be an indication of hba1c remain stable, she said maybe but couldn't say. Results due back late morning tomorrow..I told her I will be really annoyed if I've risen from 38 but she said as long as under 41 all ok....I'm thinking that as my 38 was end of October and I was still on meds Nov and Dec, I was probably still going lower before meds stopped mid jan, so even an increase may not take me beyond 38??? Stand by for tomorrow!!
She was , once again, very upbeat and complimentary about "your shape" and kept saying how very well I've done, so all though I'm a bit bruised it made me walk put with a spring in my step!!

You know something JD .... it's not really been that hard.
A change is as good as a rest they say and learning this stuff from .... the people on this forum .... has been interesting and amusing.
Little bit of a chalenge here and there.
The fact I've had to learn something new about what I'm shoving in my cake hole .... now my low carb hole is still a learning curve and still interesting.
I know small things amuse .... it aint no small thing it's my life.
Thanks for the good wishes everyone and thanks for this site .... you people and hopefully me too now really can help change peoples lives
for the better.
Even save a life or two.
Cheers everyone.
Brilliant Jackthelad!

Well done Diana:). He said after driving from Devon to Kent this morning at 80-something <cough> mph ...

The only time I've been done for speeding in the UK was in Mrs Sanguine's car years ago when she was in hospital and I was distracted. I had to produce documents to the local nick and it was then that I found out her car was out of MOT ...

It's much more fun being done abroad - twice in Zambia and once in Uruguay, highly entertaining ;)

5.7 this morning at stupid o'clock.

We'll await tomorrow with bated breath......

One thing worth thinking about is where your bloods might naturally find themselves settling. I believe, like our personal fat thresholds, we also have a personal optimal HbA1c, below which we won't go. I think mine is the 32 mark(ish) where I have skirted for a few times now. Personally, I would be utterly astonished if I even went lower - without starving myself for significant periods of time, and that's not going to be happening any time soon!

Your 38 may still be on your downward progress, but some never get close to that. When I got my 37, I was content that was my long term marker, and to an extent, mentally it still is for me.

I'm certainly not suggesting your numbers will have risen, because I don't think they will have, from the steady nature of what you have posted here, but just to provoke some thought into how things might slow up or reach a steady state.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!!
