4.8 this morning so it looks like my ultra low carb day yesterday (11g) successfully banished the remains of the Pizza slice I had on Sunday (I was higher than normal all day yesterday though - Pizza is the work of the devil!)

Are you considering coming off the Metformin?

5.8 for me this morning... I was jumping around the bedroom... so nice to be under 6 again...

I don't have any side effects from it at all and every little helps with blood control - I'll probably discuss it with the nurse at my next appointment and see what she thinks (it's not for a few months yet though)

You would never believe what state rivalries are down here Kim. Cross the border and it's amazing.
Good morning, or evening, Mike... if you Google 'Douglas Adams Australia' you will read the funniest and most succinct short history of Australia, or 'Godzone', and it's people, that you will ever stumble across.... Although you will probably already have read it...

Good morning all,

A hefty 6.0 at bedtime
A hefty 6.0 this morning

Not sure why as I only had a salad for tea and was 5.6 after 2 hours. Off to Leighton Moss RSPB reserve this morning, and what a beautiful morning it is.

7.5 this morning.

So where did that come from? Well, it could be because I had a distrubed night (chronic urticaria).

Was it because I was using a new meter? I had ordered new strips for my SD Codefree but they hadn't arrived (I had not actually made the payment!) so yesterday I went down to the local chemist but could only buy a new meter (Accu-Check mobile). I used it a few times last night and it seemed OK - although I actually prefer my SD Codefree one as getting the blood onto the strip is easier and each Accu-Check test costs approx. 50 pence.

The first test I took this morning was 8.0 but a second one immediately after was 7.0 so I've recorded 7.5. I'll take another test before I eat later this morning and see if I can get back down to the 6's I have recently had.

5.6 before bed.

4.2 .... best go check my pulse!

Yeah I'm still alive and feeling great.

But 4.2 .... last night around nine I had a serving of full fat live yoghurt with banana and honey in .... not a lot but it was in there.
Followed by one of my Polish sausages .... bit like Pepperami but without the spice.
4.2 aint to be sniffed at.

6.3 this morning, not sure where that has come from . Out yesterday, had a sharing tapas platter for lunch, but 6.3 before dinner. That was 7 hours later though, maybe I had a liver dump because of the gap. 6.1 after 2 hours though (salmon veg and some berries). Also stress of having to work on holiday is possible.

It happens @WeeFurgus

Had the same ... and a bad nite's sleep will certainly contribute. Let it go as a blip

Mike

How do you relate the daily readings to your HbA1c - is there some kind of formula you have devised?

First seriously bad reading of 17.9 - up 3.5 from yesterday. I think maybe too many carbs too late yesterday. Not panicking at this stage but certainly need to keep an eye on when I eat certain things and perhaps when I take my metformin.

What did you eat? Maybe time to think about eliminating carbs almost completely. Certainly for me at this time I try to avoid carbs altogether - it's virtually impossible but in that aim I manage to reduce carb consumption to just 20-30g per day.

6.7 this morning which I'll take as out at pub quiz last night so few chips and no exercise. Also @WeeFergus I'm having the same problems with urticaria ( hoping it's not going to end up chronic but I'm not holding my breath as it's been weeks so far) and just the stress from that can put your levels up a notch. I wake up worrying whether today will be a bad day which doesn't help, I'm sure. Hope you get some relief soon x

5.9 this morning - not been that high for a while but have a cold brewing which may be the reason particularly as all I had for tea last night was 3 ryvita crackerbreads and peanut butter!
