I'm utterly convinced you will be just fine. The only thing I would say, and it's pure speculation on my part, is to be kind to yourself and your body, and allow your body a coupe of weeks to adjust to it's new regime. I'm guessing there may be a period of "no change", then a tiny increase in scores, just until your body gets used to not having any little helpers onboard. If there's going to be one, your challenge will be during that transition period.

You're a bright, strong resourceful woman, Kimbo, you'll just move on through it.
Ahh....Thank you for the encouragement there andbreathe! I will certainly give it my best and stick with it- and keep you posted too!

Hi guys managed to get a bit of sleep this afternoon just waiting for nebulizer to finish and change mask then going to sleep night night all :-)

I got myself a free monitor initially but when I ran out of test strips and lancets my GP refused to order them. The practice nurse told me they don't give glucometers out as ' people get too obsessed by them'! In other words, they wanted to save money. I was only given one by the specialist nurse when I started insulin.
Meant to reply to this yesterday. Very parallel stories here, useless Practice Nurse but wonderful hospital DSN and Consultant. Was showered with strips meters, lancets, nice insulin pen pouch and all for nothing. Totally different attitudes.

Hard day just done pre bed check and was 3.7 mmol/l. Bit shaky and have eaten some carbs to get them up. Rollercoaster readings now. Wondering what's going on ?

Yep, 99.9% my dad in all ways- he was 6.4 1/2 ex grenadier and firefighter!
We were at GPS on Monday, now got stronger pain killers more specifically for heads apparently, amitriptyline - also to help with sleep, Monday night was a better night for her but not as good last night somehow. Back end of month to see how it's gone and if not better then referral for ct scan

Kimbo, I just had a thought with your daughter......my ex-husband is a chiropractor (he is my ex because he decided to become a woman and I am not into women, but we remain friends and my current husband is wonderful), she has had many patients with pains, migranes. sleeping problemd etc and chiropractic can be very good. I would suggest you try the chiropractpr to see if they can help. Low force is extremely good, my ex uses an Activator which is very gentle. on activator.com you can find a trained chiropractor there.

7.1 this morning. I don't know why. Am feeling a tad frustrated as was in the 6's most of yesterday. Did not go to the pool, but walked a lot..... 2hrs at the shopping mall and I hate shopping. I am wondering if I need to reduce my fats a little. Maybe my diabetic lemon cheesecake is just too fatty with all the cream cheese and cream. Or maybe I should drop the diet tonic water and go back to sparkling mineral water. Maybe I should go back to having a glass or two of vodka and tonic - that brings it down. I was thinking maybe I should get some apple cider viniger.

Anyone got any thoughts or advice welcome, please!

Good hope you slept well...

8.9 today...was awake in night feeling a little sick but all ok this am

4.8 this morning. I am back to exercising 3 nights a week again (new year resolution) which I hope is helping me keep below 5 fasting generally.

8.4 this morning! Just didn't feel right all day yesterday, had a dull tummy ache and had to get up during the night 4 times! Bit better this morning.

Spot on 5 this morning - had gone to bed on 4.8, normally look for 5's but once again I had carried on re-arranging bedroom things and sorting clothes (still!!) Post dinner, so once again it seems @Mike D's theory is spot on!!
I have an exercise bike coming on Monday, been planning that for a while, and Monday is the first day of non meds so great timing!!
