Metformin at Midnight, Testing Fasting Blood
Day 1..Day 2..Day 3..Day 4..Day 5..Day 6..Day 7..Day 8....Day 9...Day10....Day 11
.4.9........4.8.......5.9......5.0.......5.6.......5.4.....5.7........5.8..........5.9........5.6........5.7

Today ......Average 5.48 fast on test. Looking at these averages does not seem to be making any difference, it is disappointing, the original Averages was based on 77 readings.

Normal Average Fasting 5.353 mmol/L since 28 Oct 2014 (not including above readings)

Early readings 4.9 & 4.8 when I first changed the time I took the Metformin & thought this looks interesting, The jury's out.

l will continue.

This is supposed to be Metformin at Midnight, went a bit wrong again yesterday MISSED MY MEDICATION completely. Start a fresh tonight.

:hilarious: Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but it did tickle me that you forgot your medication in the midst of an experiment about changing when you have it! Sorry Daddys, It does sound like it makes not one jot of difference when you take it. One has to wonder if you actually need it at all? What are your thoughts on that?

Laugh, what do you mean Laugh Bluetit, this is serious stuff.....:arghh:

Didn't want to post the fact I had forgotten, as it's an age thing, I remembered 10 mins to 12pm last night, said "I'll take it in a few minutes", (short term memory kicked in ) then forgot.

I had understood that the Metformin when starting to take, does not take any effect for quite while slowly 'kicking in' up to 2 weeks, (I maybe wrong) based on that, I had thought that the change in the time the Metformin is taken, may also take some time to adjust.

On top of this, you have thrown a 'hand grenade' ;) into my testing regime with the suggestion that the Lot/Batch ending 44 is inaccurate.

Regards, stopping the Metformin all together, I have mentioned this to my Doctor, but I told him that I want to get my HbA1c into the 30s. It has helped me loose weight as it does subdue your appetite, and I have hit a wall and plateaued now for nearly 4 weeks at the same weight so this is not the time for me to stop the medication.

Pleased you got a laugh.......

Neil

@daddys1 I know where you are coming from with the memory loss - I'm the world's worst :( Good idea to stay on the Metformin for now, but I think you'll be off it next HbA1c. Sorry about the hand grenade! My experiment has continued throughout the day and is still showing batch 44 is reading high on average, but not every strip.

I do get STML in the morning ..... and then it clears up after being awake for a few minutes. I now set myself a routine to do a few things in order and recite those commitments back to myself in order to get the brain moving. Appears to work for me :)

Evening guys :)

Evening Mike or Morning, you'll have to excuse me, (unless this is a different conversation I'm stepping into), but what is STML, or have I forgotten?
Neil

Short term memory loss Neil :)

.... and good evening to you mate. Great work on your figures brother !!

Mike

I can't get that here - have to wait til I come home and pick some up - it gives structure apparently? I only use almond flour, with a little soy or coconut flour now and again to try and hold it all together... I don't mind moulding the pastry though... I love the cheesecake recipe too, and my little adjusted friandes.... I don't go without puds... :)
Is buying online and getting it delivered not an option? It works like the gluten would in normal flour. I've tried getting almond flour but all I can find is ground almonds which has "almond flour" in the description - is it really the same? Its also about £10 per kilo if I remember rightly :(

I could indeed order it online and have it shipped out... I forgot to do it when I made a huge order of coconut oil and meter supplies... I'll be home for a little while soon to sort out my new kitchen, so hopefully STML will not kick in and I'll remember to get the darn stuff... Almond flour, ground almonds, almond meal - all the same thing... It's not so expensive here as it's something of a staple I suppose...I tend to buy in bulk and grind my own - skin and all... there is a milling gadget on the NutriBullet and I use that... coconut doesn't work the same way - it's never as fine, it just tends to clump... Not that you can use much of it, it sucks up water like nobody's business and makes stuff quite dry I think... I am experimenting all the time and need to go over to the other thread to post some recipes when I get them right - I've almost got my almond bread perfect... still testing though...

7.5 :( I slept late though so not sure how accurate that might be. Carbs at night, gotta stop doing that.

7.3 this morning Dad treated me to a Chinese was very naughty had some rice noodles AND prawns toast. I can get away with 1 or the other but not both. The meal was yummy :-):-):-) yy Chan in Sidcup
