Thank you...I think the onset of spring (including arrival of flowers, leaves on trees) being later as you go north is due to daylight length, which in winter is longer the further south you go (in the northern hemisphere). After the spring equinox days become longer as you go north until the autumn equinox when the sequence reverses. Something like that anyway.
On top of that climate change has resulted in spring generally coming earlier by several days or even weeks, that is more temperature related.
