Nah, I'm not on insulin. It's annoying because I went to a lot of trouble to get extra strips. Even worse there was no chance of turning around to get the meter. It was hiding in its little black case, in disguise on my desk.
Vit90

If it looks like a testing kit and hides like a testing kit.

Then it probably is a testing kit!

Hope it won't inconvenience you too much on your trip.

4.5 again this morning. By my reckoning that's only 2 mornings over 5 in the last month so I'm delighted with that. Weight loss now at 28kg with my target in sight. I can't believe how things have improved since November and I owe a massive debt of thanks to this wonderful forum: without the help and support of everyone on here, I wouldn't be seeing these results

So, on the way to the airport, toothbrush -check, passport - check, boarding pass - check, baggage - check, phone - check, wallet - check, are you guessing how this ends up? BG meter - err..., err... (unprintable) :(
I've been there, done that too... :( So irritating... have a safe trip....

Morning everyone

4.8 on the Richter scale. Going down huzzah!

Ps lame comparison between bloods and earthquakes - have to work on that one - bit too early perhaps..........

noun
GEOLOGY
  1. a numerical scale for expressing the magnitude of an earthquake on the basis of seismograph oscillations. The more destructive earthquakes typically have magnitudes between about 5.5 and 8.9; it is a logarithmic scale and a difference of one represents an approximate thirtyfold difference in magnitude.

5.6 am after last night, 4.7 before dinner, pork, chrizo, haricot beans (not many), cabbage and broccoli and water, 9.0 after an hour and 6.5 after two hours, was worried after an hour....
Don't worry about the hour, that's quite normal. Are you testing at one hour so you know if your two hour is on its,way down or still rising? If not just test at 2hrs.

I normally test on the 2 hour mark but last night the haricot beans were an unusual addition, so I thought I would test on the hour to see... seemed to process it okay, cheers Hj

Hola John

Who won the battle of the breads? You or the toast?
Thanks for asking I am fortunate I use Bergen soya & linseed , and 1 slice I am ok with, sometimes 2 sends me to just over 7 but if I am having 2 I ensure a low pre eating reading of low 5s.

5.0 at bedtime. 5.7 this morning.

I wish I could discern some pattern. Sometimes my morning level rises, sometimes it is the same, sometimes it falls. Having or not having a suitable bedtime snack does not seem to change the random variability.

And now I had a call from the doctor's office. I need to go in to discuss my cholesterol so it is obviously raised since last time. I am just feeling so down. I am tired to death of never spontaneously grabbing something to eat and now it's going to get worse. I am already on medication.

Please excuse the whine. I don't talk about this to anyone in real life so it's lonely and scary.
