I've also had some huge discrepancies. But the trends shown in Daily Patterns and Averages are quite reliable, which is why I find them helpful.1: 6.3
2: 6.5
Not sure how reliable these are, as I've had a few sensors that have been wildly out.
Wow! Your steady remission level figures and HbA1c drop from May '17 to July '17 are amazing. An inspiration, although it's no doubt harder for those of us who didn't react correctly so soon, often due to bad advice, unfortunately. Both my 7 day and 90 day figure is 4.6.
My recent HbA1c was 30 which represents an average blood sugar of 5.2 so not far off.
Thanks! I feel very lucky that I found this forum the day I was diagnosed. As you say, I’m sure that’s helped my numbers immensely.…although it's no doubt harder for those of us who didn't react correctly so soon, often due to bad advice, unfortunately.
As I recall, you said in another reply that you switched to Dexcom because the Libre was unreliable at high and low levels. Can you elaborate, please? I'm lucky to be prescribed Libre, probably because I'm unlucky to have complications, so it would be helpful to know if there is a pattern to unreliability that I can take into account. TIA.6.2 for both. Usually 98% in range. I self fund Dexcom1+ and find it invaluable for keeping me on track.
My experience was with Libre2 and not the Libre2 plus which I believe is currently in use. So please keep that in mind when reading the next bit. Readings between 5-8 corresponded with finger pricks but spikes were often showing at 14 or higher when finger pricks were consistently around 10. Similarly it showed alarming lows of 2 -3 when I felt fine and finger pricks confirmed 4-5.As I recall, you said in another reply that you switched to Dexcom because the Libre was unreliable at high and low levels. Two months later,Type 2s who use a Continuous Glucose Monitor:
1. What was your latest 7-day Average?
2. What was your latest 90-day Average?
I'll start:
7 day average: 6.2 mmol/L
90 day average: 7.2 mmol/L
I hit a rough patch a while ago. It's good to see improvement, but I'm not taking anything for granted. It's wonderful that the CGM provides us with this info, helping us to control our diabetes.
Morning Rosie,Two months later,
7 day average is 5.9.
90 day average is 6.3.
Last month, my A1c was 49 and my 90 day average has been going slightly down since. So, touch wood, even if my Libre numbers are inaccurate, if the trends are correct, my A1c is now at the pre-diabetes or normal level. Estimated A1c is shown at 38 mmol/mol (5.8) on my CGM, but I daren't believe it.
Thanks. 42 would be terrific, considering I was 88 last October. And well done, you.Morning Rosie,
Well done on bringing those numbers down. I too find the CGM very helpful for keeping me on track. From memory when I used the libre2 it estimated 38 and the A1c came in at 42.
