Type 2s who use a Continuous Glucose Monitor:
1. What was your latest 7-day Average?
2. What was your latest 90-day Average?

I'll start:
7 day average: 6.2 mmol/L
90 day average: 7.2 mmol/L
I hit a rough patch a while ago. It's good to see improvement, but I'm not taking anything for granted. It's wonderful that the CGM provides us with this info, helping us to control our diabetes.

I've also had some huge discrepancies. But the trends shown in Daily Patterns and Averages are quite reliable, which is why I find them helpful.
 
Both my 7 day and 90 day figure is 4.6.
My recent HbA1c was 30 which represents an average blood sugar of 5.2 so not far off.

Wow! Your steady remission level figures and HbA1c drop from May '17 to July '17 are amazing. An inspiration, although it's no doubt harder for those of us who didn't react correctly so soon, often due to bad advice, unfortunately.

Thanks! I feel very lucky that I found this forum the day I was diagnosed. As you say, I’m sure that’s helped my numbers immensely.
 
I use a CGM about 80% of the time so my figures maybe skewed.

7 day average 6.8 mmol/Ls
90 day average 7.0 mmol/s
 
6.2 for both. Usually 98% in range. I self fund Dexcom1+ and find it invaluable for keeping me on track.

As I recall, you said in another reply that you switched to Dexcom because the Libre was unreliable at high and low levels. Can you elaborate, please? I'm lucky to be prescribed Libre, probably because I'm unlucky to have complications, so it would be helpful to know if there is a pattern to unreliability that I can take into account. TIA.

My experience was with Libre2 and not the Libre2 plus which I believe is currently in use. So please keep that in mind when reading the next bit. Readings between 5-8 corresponded with finger pricks but spikes were often showing at 14 or higher when finger pricks were consistently around 10. Similarly it showed alarming lows of 2 -3 when I felt fine and finger pricks confirmed 4-5.
I did and do find a CGM helpful for showing glucose trends for various foods and eating patterns. The Dexcom 1+ is consistently within .5 variation with my finger pricks and often spot on. I’m aware there’s margins for error with both the CGM and finger prick devices. So again it’s the trends that are useful.
Nearly two years ago I used free trials of both Libre and Dexcom 1. Even then I found the Dexcom to be more accurate but it was too pricy because you needed a separate receiver which only lasted three months. Then Dexcom brought out the 1+ and subscribe and save option which works out cheaper than the Libre.
Although I’m on insulin I don’t qualify under current guidelines for a free CGM. I’m not sure how much longer I can afford to self fund it but I find it invaluable for keeping me aware and on track. My last three A1c were 41, 39 and 38. With a low carb diet I’ve managed to reduce my insulin needs to a very low dosage.
