Hi,
I have been an insulin diabetic (Type 1) for 25 years
I have never had to take a large dose on insulin, but thought that this was just normal.
I had a clinic appointment this week and they have now said that I may be a 'Type 3' diabetic and have asked me not to take insulin on a trial basis for a period of 2 months, as I may not need it!
Apparently, this is a genetic type of diabetes.
I am obviously confused, as I have had 2 pregnancies and countless diabetic clinic appointments and have never been advised of this before.
Has anybody else encountered this?

I'm afraid I don't know anything about "Type 3" diabetes but I expect someone on the forum will be able to give you the information you need and will be along soon.
