Hi can anyone please help, necrotic pancreatitis in 2021 due to gallstone with emergency op for removal of pancreas and gallbladder, admitted about 4 times since with eventually told colitis (IV antibiotics) and Type 3C diabetes. Finding diet now very difficult as diabetic diet is the complete opposite of colitis diet, now have packs of antibiotics at home for flare ups.
Also waiting for hospital as have an incisional hernia from the Whipple procedure
Any help appreciated

Most diets aimed at diabetics are aimed at T2's.
With your T3C, you're more like a T1 when it comes to adjusting your insulin to the food you eat.
With T3C or T1 you don't produce your own insulin, so we have to supplement what our body doesn't make. It doesn't necessarily need a special diet, as long as we learn to dose for the carbs we eat.

Are you on a basal/bolus regime? (A long acting one taken at the same time every day and a quick acting one to take before eating.)

Have you looked into the DAFNE course? It may be very helpful in helping you to learn to dose for the foods you can eat with your colitis, if you're eligible:

I agree with @Antje77 . Controlling diabetes with diet concerns D2 diabetes where the body produces too much insulin to counter insulin resistance. You will be more like a T1 with no insulin production.

Thank you, yes we have been on a course re counting carbs, the main problem we have is he gets infections in the colon and it gets really difficult to control the glucose levels even with insulin
