Type II Diabetes and very hot weather

I have had Type II diabetes for 11 years, diet controlled. My most recent HbA1c was 42, which the nurse said, it means I am now "in remission". But I read earlier today in the Type I forum that patients can be affected with low blood glucose during very hot weather and I wonder what the situation is with Type II?

This can be an issue for people who use insulin. Diet controlled you don't have to worry about lows. :)

And congratulations on your hba1c, well done!

I've found my glucose levels are seeming to bounce around a little bit more than before - going up without eating, going down after eating and so on. In my head, I'm blaming it on the stress from increased heat.

Hi, my readings have all been lower during this hot weather. I thought at first it was a problem with a batch of strips! DN told me that the warm weather can lower glucose. I've had a little extra carbs on the back of this.... a half slice of toast this morning with scrambled eggs was delicious and my readings were great: 5.2 afterwards :-)
