Been diagnosed now for 1 yr and had enough. Am disabled and at home all the time had to give up work, need to snack often due to pill taking feel like a pin cushion. Swollen sites levels up and down like a yo yo fed up

Does your DSN know about your swollen sites and yo yo levels? Any idea why the sites are swollen? Is it a reaction to the insulin or have you been using the same sites too often?

We all feel like pin cushions from time to time but we do get over it (Today I pricked my finger, not realising the level had changed from 3 to 4 . . . OUCH!)

Having to give up work must have been awful. Do you have any hobbies that can take up your time?

Hopefully this is just a phase you're going through (I've had lots of them!) Just be careful that you don't feel down for too long. Apparently we are prone to depression, so speak to someone about this. Your DSN should be able to help you. My first 2 years were my worst but I was determined not to let diabetes rule my life. There are always setbacks but we can just pick ourselves up and try again. I've been doing it for nearly 37 years and have shed many a tear but I'm still going strong.

You will get over this but do speak to your DSN and you'll work it out together.

We can make suggestions on the forum so feel free to ask specific questions.

Change sites all the time. Have been allergic to so many different insulins trial and error. Different needles tried, allergic to everything me. Seeing nurse again on Monday for million'th time they running out of answers too.

Oh you poor thing. I have loads of allergies myself but thankfully not insulin. I presume you've tried antihistamines (silly question I know!) There must be an expert somewhere that can come up with something to help you! What about animal insulin, have you tried that? Fingers crossed they'll come up with something to help you.
You're definitely in my prayers tonight!

Do you also see an endocrinologist?
