Hello, I was diagnosed type 1 last april, I have been watching what others say about there blood glucose levels. everyone else seem to be able to keep there levels fairly stable on there before and after meals levels. i can get my before meals levels somewhere near but a few hours afterwards and there still high but by the next meal there ok again. My diabetic nurse and doctor arent to worried yet as im honeymooning like there is no tomorrow. just wondered if anyone else is like me?

What meds are you taking and when. I've been diagnosed for 3 months and only using pre-mixed insulins twice a day. Really struggled for the first 2 months then changed from Novomix 30 to Humalog Mix 25 and BG's have been remarkably stable since. I was even congratulated by DN this morning!

How closely are you watching your carb intake? (Quantities and timings in relation to injections.)

As a newby, you need to learn about carb counting and how your blood glucose levels react to various carbs. It would also help if you shared the insulin you are on. Most of us who have achieved good levels have got there through a reasonable amount of work and a lot of testing!

Thanks for your replies, im on apidra for meals and lantus last thing at night. I am carb counting.but need to learn the glycemic index of different foods. I have found that 10gof carbs raise my blood by about 6.0 . When i was diagnosed i did manage fairly good stable results then after 4 months i fractured my leg and then i started honeymooning and its been a bit of a roller coaster since.
