Ugly looking toe

Two days now and the second toe in from the little is looking pretty awful, very discoloured, bright red on top but it's not too sore, maybe a little numb if anything. Off to see the GP later so see what transpires. Think it may be related to change of medication from Glipizide to Januvia as the levels are higher than normal.
Anyone with experience of discoloured toes and its bruising or other damage?

@EKIMJ10 - I haven't had issues myself, but you are definitely doing the right hing getting it checked out without any delay.

Any changes with out feet, looking red, darker, having pain, and so on shouldn't be ignored. Foot issues can escalate quickly, or they can turn out to be nothing at all.

The only time I've gone for a prompt check on my feet was when I noticed was when I noticed discolouration under one of my big toenails, but I couldn't recall injuring it in any way.

When I was seen, it was diagnosed as being a developing bruise, so I must have stubbed my toe or something, without recalling it.

At no time was I made to feel a bit daft, for going with with noting worrying going on. In fact, quite the opposite.

Never run fast and loose with feet.

I hope it turns out to be nothing worrying for you, but, yes. Do go.

Glad you are going to the doc - always wise to get foot problems checked. :)

Please let us know how you get on?

Hi many thanks for all your support, just got back from the GP, the only anomaly was the pulse in my foot on one side was OK but she couldn't find one on the other one. Now booked in for a 'Doppler Test' which I think measures blood flow. Feel a bit easier now.
