I can't seem to find the formula or chart to convert US A1c numbers to UK and vice versa. What does my US 5.8 mean in UK numbers?
Here you goI can't seem to find the formula or chart to convert US A1c numbers to UK and vice versa. What does my US 5.8 mean in UK numbers?
It converts to a hba1c of 40 in the UK, and to make things even more confusing, this is just over the prediabetic threshold in the US but just under the prediabetic threshold in the UK.What does my US 5.8 mean in UK numbers?
Hopefully you are also good at multiplying by 18 to understand their blood sugar readings.Thank you! Now I can understand what my UK friends are saying about their results!
Or you just use a chart like I do.Hopefully you are also good at multiplying by 18 to understand their blood sugar readings.![]()

Who uses pen and paper these days? Haven’t you a calculator on your phone?………….but my mental tables of multiplication definitely don't go up to 18. 18 is close to impossible without pen and paper.
I do, of course. But I tend to forget I have a calculator on my phone unless it's something I really need a calculator for instead of pen and paper.Who uses pen and paper these days? Haven’t you a calculator on your phone?
