Ultra processed food

@Poshpots - Going back to your orignal post - as an 83 year old T2 woman, I work on the simple basis that when I buy processed food if more ingredients sound like chemicals than actual food then that's definitely off limits for me, though my favourite "Er what!!" combination so far has been frozen prawns with added sugar...

I also came across this discussion now, even though it’s a bit old. In the meantime, I found out that the term “ultra-processed” isn’t just a nutritionist buzzword, but it’s actually the basis for lawsuits in the U.S.

It’s amazing how often you find weird additives like sugar in places they don’t belong. For a Type 2 diabetic, keeping it simple with whole foods is not only practical but helps manage blood sugar without the guesswork. Got any other bizarre ingredient combos you’ve come across?
