Hello all,

Recently i have been experiencing hypos where i have felt no symptoms of actually having low blood. Yesterday i was 3.3 and did not feel any symptoms and this afternoon before lunch i was 2.9 and once again did not feel anything. Normally when i have a hypo i feel very hot and bothered and wobbly to a certain extent. While on both occasions i feel i may have injected too much insulin earlier on in the day, and this may have caused my hypo unawareness i am nonetheless concerned and would appreciate any advice on the issue.

Me too; and it has happened gradually as on the first year of diabetes the hypos were more frequent due to a stronger sulfonylurea drug, which my doctor changed. How the unawareness progressed I am not sure as I am not a doctor. But I might guess that the frequency may have burned out some neurons. What I do now, as it is a dangerous state, is regulate by the clock and snack at night before going to bed.

Ist of all stop driving if you hold a licence.
Secondly check and double check how much you are injecting
Thirdly the standard advice is to run your blood sugars higher for a few weeks and avoid hypos whilst doing it.
