Uncontrollable...

Hi Raymond,
I use a Dexcom now but used to test about 15 times each day. When I was first diagnosed I tested even more! It takes time to figure things out. Test more and you will learn more. Information gives you power. You will learn what your body does. How it responds to different foods, stress, activity. T1 is like walking a tightrope everyday. Being brave is way more interesting than being fearful. You can do this!

5 times a day

Could I be a pain and suggest you test more! If I wake with a blood sugar of over 10 I'd take a little extra insulin before food, and wait until I was down to 7 before eating, and would probably reduce carbs on that meal, testing afterwards to make sure my blood levelled off with the food digesting, there's 5 strips used already :(

If you're having hospital admissions from high sugars I wonder if you could make an 'individual funding request' for a libre on the grounds you'd meet the RMOC criteria if your CCG had commissioned it, that or try claiming pip as I believe children can claim it as T1s and fund one from that.

Good luck.
