Under skin blood testing device on BBC news page

Shame to wait 4 years, what a gigantic step forward this will be in managing diabetes

It would be a fantastic leap forward. Lets hope that's those involved truly understand the pain of testing ...literally!! I wish there was something we could do collectively to try and speed up the availability of such a device - it would make a huge difference.

I dont know exactly how to go about it but if every insulin dependant person lobied their consultants to urge them to apply to NICE for cgm funding, then that would start to make the ball roll.

May be we all should sign a petition to enable cgm to be a reality.

It will never happen here in the UK,four years to probabal release, but then another 5 years to get through the uk medical testing barrier because its internal and then, think about it, a tiny circuitboard powered by a tiny battery, sending radio and bluetooth signals to Doctors, so they would need specialist equipment and storage for all this info....Add all that together, do you seriously think ANY govenment bodie would put up that amount of exspenditure up frount thinking about the long term gains, lol, hell i am still waiting for a pump and they only give out 1 a month of those and they keep people alive i will be waiting years for the pump, how long to get this cgm????? Unfortunatly i reckon it will be another "not avaliable here" device, believe me i wish it was, i never test my blood and havent for decades because of needles, but only get excited if your swedish! :(
