Hi all,
i'm a 45 yr old male diagnosed with T2 in May 2016. My fasting BG was approx 8 mmol/l back then. When they started me on Bydureon late last year my fasting BG went up to 13 mmol/l .... after 9 weeks i stopped taking it and started metformin and dulglutide....my fasting BG dropped tp approx 8/9 mmol/l again and my 2 hr pp to about 10 mmol/l . I was 390 lbs then and as a last ditch attempt to lose weight ...and i mean last ditch, i asked my GP to refer me for bariatric surgery. My BMI was 52 and i was desperate. I didn't realise that this region of the UK doesn't offer bariatric surgery and i was subsequently refused treatment on the NHS.......This was fair enough as it encouraged me to sit down at my pc and determinedly search for an alternative. I very quickly discovered LCHF. I thrive on simplicity so after many days of reading various ways of cutting carbs i opted for the eat only meat, dairy and very very limited veg (2/3 portions per week) .. 3 days after starteing this way of eating i dropped all medication and my BG normalised (fasting avg 6.8 and 2hr pp 5.5 - 6 mmol/l) ..... Heres' my problem though....i need some advice. This morning my BG was suddenly 8 mmol/. The only difference was that i ate fried cabbage and onion for dinner at around 5.30pm.
Does anyone have any experience of cabbage raising BG?? I've taken dawn phenomenon into consideration...my BG is never over 7.2 early morning since starting very low carb diet.. Any and all advice appreciated.
p.s. I have lost 16lbs in one month just by cutting out carbohydrates
