Unexplained high BS

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me out or give me some advice. I'm a 43 year old male, diagnosed LADA at 38. I've always had good control of it via diet and Tresiba as my basal insulin. My normal average blood sugar is between 120 and 130. About a month ago I increased my dose from 14 to 16 units once a day. I'm fairly active, I usually work out twice a day and am a firefighter.
Anyway, about 10 days ago out of the blue my average blood sugar has jumped to 190 to 200. I can't figure out why. My diet has not changed nor has my activity level. I also do not feel sick or like I'm fighting something off.
Any help or similar experiences would be great. I really don't know what to do and it is very frustrating.
Thanks for any help.

Have you tried increasing your Tresiba again? Spoken to a doctor about possibly adding a bolus insulin to your regime? As it seems that time may have come as you only mention a basal xx

I am going to bump up Tresiba again. I just find it strange that my average blood sugar rose over 50 points overnight and hasn't corrected itself. I do have bolus insulin but I rarely use it as I rarely eat any carbs outside of fruits. No breads, rice, or anything that comes out of a box.
I just don't understand why it would be such a dramatic change in one day and not correct itslef.

Just your pancreas completely giving up, it happens and yes it can change dramatically like that in a night/few days, have you been correcting with bolus insulin xx

Yes @Shane25598 is sounds as though your honeymoon period may have finally ended. My understanding is that a low carb diet can extend it for years, but it does end eventually.... Fruit has a reasonable amount of carb so once you're not producing any of your own insulin you'll probably have to bolus for it....

Time to consult with your medical team?

Of course, there are plenty of other reasons for a T1's needs to suddenly change eg you may be coming down with an illness, stress,.....
