I'm recently diagnosed type 1 (January), and over the last week have noticed a significant increase in readings consistently, with no change in diet or physical activities etc. Is this normal?

Hi not uncommon for a change needed. Main reason is usually you are coming down with an illness either viral or the flu for eg. Also lately alot colder so may be that your just needing extra. You will have to work out though of its your basal or bolus, possibly both that need adjusting. Also, as you are very newly diagnosed having insulin may have prompted your pancreas to start sputtering again (honeymoon period), which might now be coming to an end.

Hey yeah I get unexplainable highs too, although I've been type 1 for 18 years now! I had toast for breakfast yesterday and bloods were 13.9, went to the gym for an hour then tested again and they were 13.4, had grilled chicken wraps with nuts, pesto and spinach for lunch around 1.30, didn't eat til about 7.30 and they were 18.7!!
