I haven't been diagnosed with any type of diabetes, well, my doctor won't test me at all as he says 'I don't fit into the usual categories of a diabetic person' . I am feeling very frustrated over this, as my symptoms seem to be getting worse over time. I feel dizzy all the time, I am going to the toilet up to 20 times a day now, usually I would go approximately 4-5 times. I feel like my insides are shaking, I feel hungover constantly, like I have a weight inside my forehead ( Also a tingling sensation in my forehead?) I am constantly tired and I keep getting sweats, when this happens it feels like my eyes are shaking. I felt this way all day yesterday, then I drank a glass of full fat coke and within half an hour I felt the best I have in weeks. I have a few close family members with diabetes, so I know the most common signs. I'm just worried that I may have it too. I have checked my glucose levels myself. My highest being 8.8 just before bed. My lowest being 3.6 before eating. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can say to my doctor ? He literally laughed at me when I asked him if it was possible. :?

Sounds like your blood glucose levels can at times be dropping too low, which isn't a sign of diabetes (which causes the BG levels to rise too high). But def some sort of problem there. Has you Dr conducted ANY tests on you to find out the source of the problems?

Thanks for the reply. No, he said if it continues he will consider sending me for blood tests. I've almost passed out 5 times in the last 6 weeks, and I've been to the doctors 3 times about this. He seems to be very reluctant to do any kind of investigation. He asked me to bring a urine sample to the next appt, which I did. and he said he didn't need it anymore. I'm usually pretty healthy so I'm very confused at the moment !

That's really not on. Regardless of diabetes or not, it needs investigating. Are you able to see another Dr at the practise rather than this one? Or go to another practise? Failing that, next time you are feeling particularly bad, go to A&E. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Hi Cocolily12, :)

Something is definitely not adding up with the symptoms that you have explained to us.
Your are allowed,to ask for a second opinion or expert consultant to diagnose what is causing your bad health.
You will find that your doctor will be quite happy to organize and arrange this for you.
In your case this should be a normal procedure from the NHS.

Best of luck.
Roy. :)

I agree that you don't appear to have diabetes but are suffering from some low blood sugar problems which do need investigation. To not do a urine test when you are going to the loo that many times a day seems pretty poor from the GP.
