Hi, I am going to be moving away from home (Wales) to University in England next month in September. How do I go about making sure I have access to insulin and my t-slim pump equipment? Do I have to change GP? As what will happen when I come home during the holidays?

My personal experience is not really relevant as it is so long ago when I went to uni and I wasn't a diabetic at the time, but I remember registering for a doctor in my first week, which is the only time I ever seen him.

I moved doctor when I went to uni (and I was diabetic), I would suggest this is likely to be a good idea as firstly the recommended doctors near unis tend to deal with lots of young people, and therefore tend to be somewhat more switched on and flexible.

Most holidays aren't all that long (and you'll likely not have been kicked out of your halls/residence), but if you're at home for long enough to need more supplies (e.g. over the summer), you can register as a temporary resident back at your old GP.
