Hi I'm on antibiotics at the moment and my morning Bgs have risen from a religious 4.6 to 5.8 this morning. Do I now skip a meal to keep levels to my normal self or put it down to a off week and.wait for this infection to dissapear
Infections will often cause your blood sugar to rise.
I would continue eating as normally as long as you have appetite and your blood sugar stays below 10. If it climbs up there, I would ask my GP for advice. If it suddenly goes very high, it's a different matter.
Although annoying, for all intents and purposes for a short period of time (days), 5.8 is perfectly normal/acceptable. For some of us, that is probably even what we aim for.
