Unusually high

I was just wondering if anyone else gets a day when they really struggle to get BM's in single figures. Gone a week with every result being between 4 and 6 until BAM 15 in the morning and POW 16 at lunch with no change to routine. Does anyone else sometimes get this or is everyone's readings all perfect all of the time?

I get that too - can't explain why. I take a corrective dose with my pre-meal injection to bring it down and sometimes it still doesn't work. If corrective doses don't work and I stay high for a few days I increase my levemir by a couple of units.

Please take this in the light hearted way it was meant.

When I get this I put it down to the fact that I sometimes use an SD codefree meter.

At 11.15 this morning the reading was 9.5 which was unbelievable. At 11.43 it was 5.7. So in half an hour I have dropped five and a half points. Hands up everyone who believes that.

Still, if I couldn't take a joke I wouldn't have bought an SD.

Glad to hear I am not the only one. Sometimes my corrective dose does nothing and sometimes the same amount sends me hypo! Suppose its just one of those things.

Exactly!

The corrections usually work, but occasionally it's as if the earlier insulin has a delayed (6 hours +) action, meaning you can end up with a hypo. The trouble is you don't know when/whether it will happen.

Isn't diabetes fun...
