Unwarranted highs

Does anyone else struggle with really random highs? I eat the same breakfast every morning for the purpose of knowing what to inject and I did the exact same thing as normal, and it’s skyrocketed to 17. Things like this are a frequent occurrence, my sugar is crazy throughout the day, it’s the frustration of doing everything I’m supposed to and seeing no benefit

Hi @Kirstin Anne and I feel your pain. Sometimes T1 just does what it wants and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Some of the many reasons for bgs to act strangely
1) you're harbouring an infection or illness (eg I've had UTIs and not had any symptoms)
2) any chance you're injecting into an overused injection site and it's not being absorbed properly
3) gone off insulin?

And just stress can push up bgs too...

Can I ask, how long have you been T1 and are you on a pump or abasal/bolus regime (or something else)?

Of course, if you're newish there's also the possibility that your pancreas is still pushing out random amounts of insulin and that is messing things up too.

Lots of virtual hugs.
