Hi there @poppy659 .

Unfortunately, we can't offer any medical advice pertaining to your husband's condition. It's best you consult with your diabetes team if you have any concerns, as they can advise better in that regard.

Has your husband fully recovered from the chest infection since returning home from the hospital? If the infection is still lingering, that could be causing his sugar levels to stay elevated.

Hi @poppy659

I do think that your hubby is not quite right, after the stress of hospital and the infection.
also exercise can be too much for the same reasons.
walking is usually very good for lowering blood glucose levels, but if not right, it will certainly keep them higher than he is use to.
I'm a bit younger, and the same happens to me.
When I do too much, even when fasting, my BG levels rise.
I had my fasting BG levels, and they will be just above normal levels. After doing my morning chores or if I have a cold etc, without eating my BG levels, they are in the 7s.

Let him take it easier, and yes do speak to your doctor about it the infection has healed.
Best wishes.
