Hi there..
Just wanted to update you as I was really appreciative of all the support when my bs were in the late 20s and 30s.
It's been 3 weeks taking bith insulins loyally and with carb counting. The last 4 days I have been in the 5/6 bracket bar one 15bs reading. I'm going to the gym also. My dn said I can have a pump before xmas time if I keep taking the insulin. I'm still bit unhappy re the 7kg weight gain but hoping that will settle down over the next month. I'm certainly not over eating. Thanks again everyone for the support .. fantastic
Brilliant work @nessa1970 ! That's fantastic progress!
Don't worry about the weight gain for now. Get your blood sugar sorted and then look at the weight. I'm sure you'll be able to sort that out too, but you've done right to prioritise your diabetes control

Well done Nessa - brilliant news, so glad you've got your BG levels down to a safer level, don't stress about the weight gain, it's far better to be in safe numbers than carry some extra kg's - keep us updated

Fantastic progress Nessa, you should be justifiably proud of yourself.
As has been said don't worry about that additional weight for now, try and get yourself settled and into a routine of sorts with the D and then you can make changes.
One downside to insulin they don't warn you about is that it kinda does cause a bit of weight gain even when you are eating very lightly, but just settle yourself into things first then move on.
Don't worry about the occasional blip, now you have things in hand there is no such thing as a bad number as long as you deal with it.
