Hi,

I’ve had my second set of hb1ac results in and seen the doctor today. In 8 weeks I’ve gone from 48 to 44, lost 12 pounds and moved bmi from 30 to 28. Everything else ok; blood pressure and no fatty liver.

So just wanted to say a massive thank you to all advice here on low carb, encouragement from others, and just reading about other people’s journey has been a huge help and motivation.

The doctor also put my mind at rest about slurred speech (he said some people do get it with lower or higher than their usual blood sugar) and my tiredness after activity of 3 hours (which after 2 years of inactivity due to waiting for knee operation, COVID, long COVID, then COVID again was ok and will get better over time).

Only thing that irritated me was a comment about “letting myself go”, which I politely rebuffed with the reasons for inactivity above! And even if it wasn’t the case I thought fairly insensitive if somebody develops insulin resistance?!

Other than that he was great, we both avoided any conversation about low carb when I mentioned it with him saying keep doing what you’re doing if you’re losing weight and hb1ac is coming down. Which I’ll take!

Thank you again to everybody.

Great news! You must be feeling well happy with that!
