Dear Diabetes community!
I have just joined you as i am worried about my mother, and need some urgent advice.
She woke up last night several times completety soaked in sweat everywhere, something she has never has before.
In the morning her blood sugar level were 16.1
And now in the afternoon its 18.3
For the last week the levels have all been pretty high. 13-16. (She checks 3 times a day)
But 18.3 to me seems just too high.

Is this dangerous?
Should i take her to the hospital?

She takes metformin 500mg - 3 tablets a day.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!!

P.s she eats very healthy and watches her carbohydrate intake

She could have a bug which would push sugars up, she could have yo yoing high and low sugars and / or need meds changed either way Id call the doctor as long as your mum gives consent of course

I think it's the moment to phone to your GP and ask an urgent visit. Could be anything from a flu to a tyroid problem or something more serious like tuberculosis not related to diabetes.
