Urticaria & high blood sugar

Hi, I used to suffer with chronic urticaria but have been in remission and off antihistamines for three years. Over the last two weeks I've started to come out in wheals again and I've noticed that my fasting blood sugar has been creeping up in the mornings. Yesterday my fasting BS was 5.8 mmol/l when it's usually around 5.3 - 5.6. I felt unwell all day and had a small glass of whisky in the evening. At bedtime my legs were bright red in places and wheals quickly developed. I slept well (- the whisky!) but this morning my fasting BS was 6.4 mmol/l. I know these readings aren't high but that's because I follow a low carb diet, but 6.4 is high for me.

Does anyone else have experience of urticaria and high blood sugar?

Thanks :)

I do suffer from urticaria, but mine is mostly caused by extreme cold so I can avoid it, and I haven't had a flare up for a long time. However, I do still suffer from allergies and if I'm having a particularly bad time, then my blood sugar does rise. I put it down to inflammation, stress and generally feeling rubbish.
