Hi everyone,
My name is Lynne and I am the clinical trainer for an independant care provider. My question is this:- what is the latest advice on skin prep pre BM testing, I thought you just wash with soap and water.

don't use alcohol wipes, because they say it toughens the skin. just use soap and water. or do a mum and lick a handkerchief and have a scrub :)

Official line is wash hands with soap and water and rinse thoroughly, not much has changed in that respect for the last 30-40 years since bg meters came widely available.

Think alcohol skin prep was stopped years ago when I was a nurse (so over 15 yrs ago, at least where I worked anyway). I just use soap and water or nothing (if I haven't been handling any foods and my hands are visibly clean).

Yep, soap and water, though I suppose if you wanted to be ultra cautious you could make it anti bacterial soap.
