Just suffered my first "set application" issue. The i-Ports use a similar auto-applicator to some of the medtronic sets, and I failed to use it properly, entirely my own fault. One side inserted before the other. As a result, the cannula wasn't properly in - I think it kinked - and therefore insulin delivery was affected. I can see how this would affect pump users. At first, it seemed to be okay, but after a couple of hours sat at the desk, I was injecting but with little to no effect. Not fun and a good learning experience regarding how I do it in future and what the impact of an incorrectly applied cannula does!

I actually think it would be worth those who are going on to a pump being given these things to learn about the various aspects of using a set!

Following a question in a different topic, the costs of these are £109 for ten for the i-Port and £49 for the Insuflon.
