Using your toes to check blood glucose levels

Hi,
please can you help me?
I'm looking after a 2 year old with type 1 and the nurse informed me I can use fingers or toes to check BGL.
I can not find any information about checking from the toes and if there is a delay as with using alternate sites?
I work in Norway, is this just a Norge thing!

I've not heard of it either to be honest but if it has been advised by your DSN then it should be fine.
