Hi all.
I have been using a glucoman aero 2k for many months now and I have a bit of a cold at the moment. I test 3 times a day and have had lower readings from 4.7 to 5.7 and when I retest its always higher often by a full point. Should I get my gp to check my machine?

The misconception of using a glucometer is to test randomly.
That only gives you a snapshot of what your blood glucose levels are at that time.

The recommendations we use is to test around meals. Doing a pre test before eating, then a two hours test from first bite. If your BG levels are more than 2mmols two hours after eating, then something in that meal is spiking you too high. And should be avoided.

Keeping a food diary whilst doing this will help you understand more and give your doctors help with understanding your diabetes.

Keep asking.
